A supportive, structured DBT group for adults 18+ looking to build emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness skills.

At Manhattan Wellness, we know that navigating big emotions, relationship patterns, or overwhelming stress can feel isolating—even when you’re doing the individual work. A DBT Skills group offers something different: a supportive space where you can learn evidence-based tools alongside others who are working toward the same goals.

Our 24-week DBT Skills Group follows the classic Dialectical Behavior Therapy curriculum developed by Marsha Linehan, delivered in a clear, structured, and approachable format. Whether you’re hoping to manage intense emotions, build stronger relationships, reduce impulsive behaviors, or simply create more balance in your life, this group helps you develop the skills to do just that.

You do not need to be an individual therapy client at Manhattan Wellness to join. All participants must have an existing individual therapist for support throughout the group.

This group is a strong fit if you:

  • Want practical tools to manage overwhelming emotions or stress
  • Find yourself reacting impulsively or shutting down when distressed
  • Struggle with conflict, boundaries, or advocating for your needs
  • Want more stability in relationships
  • Are curious about mindfulness but unsure how to apply it in real life
  • Feel stuck in patterns, even if you’re working on them in individual therapy
  • Appreciate structure, clarity, and learning specific step-by-step skills

Is the DBT Skills Group Right for You?

DBT Skills groups are not process groups—they are structured, educational, and skills-based. You’ll learn tools, practice them, and get coaching on how to use them in day-to-day life.

How the Group Works

This group is structured, supportive, and highly skill-focused.

Each session includes:
  • Mindfulness practice (5 minutes)
  • Homework review (30–40 minutes)
  • New skill teaching + practice (35–45 minutes)
  • Homework assignment (5 minutes)


You’ll receive DBT handouts and worksheets each week and will be asked to complete structured homework between sessions.

Group Agreements
To support everyone’s progress, participants agree to:
  • Arrive on time and stay the full session
  • Keep cameras on if joining virtually
  • Avoid substances before group
  • Avoid graphic details of self-harm or unsafe behavior
  • Engage in skills-focused discussion


Attendance Policy
  • 4 absences require restarting during the next cycle
  • Two consecutive no-shows prompt outreach and review



Enrollment Details

Group Name: DBT Skills

Start Date: February 12, 2026

Meets: Thursdays, 5:00–6:30 PM EST

Format: Virtual

Length: 24-week full cycle

Leaders: Cecilia Pollock, a Licensed Manhattan Wellness clinician trained in DBT

Who Can Join: Adults 18+ of any gender; must have an individual therapist

Enrollment Windows:
New members may join only during the 2-week Mindfulness modules:
  • Weeks 1–2
  • Weeks 9–10
  • Weeks 17–18

Outside of these windows, the group is closed.
