At Manhattan Wellness, our Therapist-Led Monthly Book Club is a free, virtual gathering designed to bring people together around meaningful books, thoughtful conversation, and gentle emotional insight.

Each month, a licensed Manhattan Wellness therapist facilitates a one-hour guided discussion using a book from our Manhattan Wellness Library. Together, we explore themes of personal growth, relationships, healing, and self-understanding — all in a supportive, welcoming space where curiosity and connection come first.

Whether you’re a current client or simply someone who loves reading with intention, our book club offers a low-pressure way to learn, reflect, and feel supported.


The Manhattan Wellness Book Club exists to:

  • Encourage reflection and emotional awareness
  • Explore themes of healing, growth, and self-understanding
  • Build community through meaningful conversation
  • Make therapeutic insight accessible outside of formal therapy

It’s a place to slow down, think deeply, and connect — without pressure or expectation.

Who Is book club For?

Our book club is open to:

  • Current Manhattan Wellness clients
  • Community members who enjoy reading and thoughtful discussion
  • Individuals curious about personal growth and emotional wellness

No therapy experience is required.

There is no pressure to share personal details, and participation looks different for everyone — you’re welcome to listen, reflect, or speak when it feels right.

  • Monthly virtual sessions (60 minutes on Zoom)
  • Therapist-led facilitation by a licensed Manhattan Wellness clinician
  • Gentle discussion prompts
  • A mix of group conversation and personal reflection
  • A supportive, non-judgmental space

We focus on conversation, insight, and connection — not performance or perfection.

Books We Read

We select accessible, growth-oriented books, including:
  • Psychology-informed nonfiction
  • Self-help and personal development
  • Reflective fiction with emotional depth

What to expect:
One book chosen per month

Book shared at least one month before the meeting

You don’t have to be a “fast reader” — the emphasis is on curiosity, not completion.
